Sesame seeds are one of the most versatile seeds in the world and are also ones which offer a complex mix of flavours and nutrients.  Most Asian cuisines use these seeds extensively and so does the Mediterranean cuisine which is heavily dependent upon these for making most of their dips and dishes.  They have a brilliant texture and crunch which just adds to their value. These seeds have a rich and deep aroma and a flavour which lies somewhere in between that of coffee and dark chocolate.  These seeds also have slightly faint notes of spices and herbs which enables people across the world to use them in many dishes and recipes.  These seeds go brilliantly with salads and one example is a salad made of kale, raw garlic, black sesame seeds and green chile. starch foods like rice, rice cakes and noodles too.  This is the reason why many Asian and especially Korean recipes include black sesame seeds.  A little bit of sprinkled black sesame can also work well with chocolates and taste bars.  Black sesame seeds are often seen on top of desserts like cakes and ice creams.
